His passing marks the conclusion of a well-lived life defined by integrity, dedication, and unfaltering devotion to those he loved.
Ronald’s journey began in the picturesque surroundings of Sedro Woolley, where he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Harold and Helen Hinshaw, whose memory remained a guiding light throughout his life. He carried forward the values he learned in his early years, upholding a steadfast sense of responsibility, generosity, and kindness that became clear to all who met him.
Ronald dedicated many years to serving his country with distinction in the United States Air Force. He rose through the ranks, achieving the esteemed title of Chief Master Sergeant in just eighteen years, a testament to his exceptional leadership and commitment. Following his distinguished military career, Ronald approached every subsequent endeavor with the same unwavering dedication. He later worked for the Veteran Administration in Salt Lake, role he embraced fully for 14 years, and was a calling that resonated deeply with him.
He shared many joyous years with his beloved wife of 57 years, Nina, who was his companion and profound source of comfort and happiness. Together, they created a caring and nurturing home, one that became the heart of many cherished family moments and gatherings.
Ronald is survived by his wife Nina; son Jeff (Mandy) Hinshaw; grandchildren Taylor (Cody) Lund, Briana Hinshaw, Payton Hinshaw; and sister Janice Morgan. His love for family was abiding and evident, resonating in the guidance he offered, the laughter he shared, and the wise counsel he dispensed. Ronald was also a supportive brother and friend to Janice Morgan, reflecting his deep-rooted connection to his family.
He is predeceased by his parents, and sisters Joyce Nelson and Virginia Byrd, whose bond with him was meaningful and enduring. His devotion to his family, both living and departed, was a testament to his loyalty and warmth.
Ronald’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those he touched. His legacy, however, endures in the values he imparted, the strong family ties he nurtured, and the unwavering love that defined his life. He will be remembered with deep affection and lasting respect.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary. 3333 West 5600 South, Roy UT. Friends may visit with family on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary, where full military honors will be accorded.
Interment will be at Utah Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale UT.
