Born on January 25, 1939 on the family farm in Butler Grove Township, Illinois. He was raised by his maternal grandparents in nearby Fillmore. He took pride in his 42-year career in Federal Service with the United States Air Force, which he completed in 2006 at Hill Air Force Base.

John loved fiercely, and treasured his roles as husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by Nancy, his beloved wife of nearly 64 years, his sister Dorothy, three children and five grandchildren.

John’s celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., Ogden., Utah. Please gather with the family at 10:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are all welcome.

He will be interred at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler, Illinois.
