James Emmett
June 20, 1942 – February 15, 2026
North Ogden — James “Jim” Emmett, 83, passed into Paradise on February 15, 2026. Jim was born on June 20, 1942, in Somerset, Massachusetts, to George and Grace Emmett, who preceded him in death, as well as his older brothers George Jr. and Jack, older sister Joan and younger sister Susan. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was married to his wife, JoAnn, who preceded him in death for over 60 years and is survived by his children Debbie Emmett Frazier (Jack) and Jimmy Emmett, grandchildren Aubree Rojas, Barrett Rojas, Brandon Emmett, and Colbee (Rojas) Fox (Corey), Great grandchildren Jade Rebel Rojas, Isabella Rose Rojas, Crew Jameson Fox, and Madden Beck Fox. Jim was laid to rest with his beloved JoAnn at Pacific Crest Cemetery, Redondo Beach, a Celebration of life is planned for this spring. He and JoAnn lived in Huntington Beach, California for 40 years, then retired to live in Canyon Lake California, where Jim could enjoy his long time passion for Bass fishing as often as he liked. After JoAnn passed away, he moved to Ogden, Utah to be near his family. As much as he missed dear friends in California, Jim loved Utah, being with his family and quickly made many friends. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, always having a joke ready (though not always an appropriate one). He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
