Francisca Ontiveros
October 10, 1935 – March 17, 2026
Ogden — With hearts full of sorrow, yet deep gratitude for her life, the family of Francisca T. Ontiveros announces her peaceful passing on March 17, 2026, at the age of 90. She lived a life defined by strength, boundless love, and unwavering devotion to all who had the privilege of sitting at her kitchen table.
Francisca was born on October 10, 1935, in Cerritos, Mexico, to Basilio and Juana Turrubiartes. She married her beloved husband, Ubaldo L. Ontiveros, and together they built a life rooted in love, sacrifice, faith, and family. In the 1950s, they migrated to Chicago and later settled in Utah.
A devoted and fiercely loving mother, Francisca raised eleven children. She is survived by Maria (Epifanio) Pineda, Gabriela (Bill) Renek, Santos (Kristen) Ontiveros, Octaviano Ontiveros, and Javier Ontiveros. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ubaldo, and her children Esperanza, Arturo, Antonio, Graciela, Virginia, and Rene.
Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart was always ready to welcome others with a smile, a joke, and a warm meal. A woman of deep faith, she carried both joy and hardship with grace, never allowing the profound losses she experienced to diminish her love.
She found great joy in her seven grandchildren–Kevin (Elizabeth), Erika (Rosa), AshLee (Daniel), Kierra, Madisen (Brendon), Alonzo (Davania), and Jayden (Keisha)–and her eight great-grandchildren: Allainah, Leo, Emmett, WesLee, Walter, Olivia Fran, Jakari, and Aura.
Francisca will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, humor, and her gift for making everyone feel they belonged. As she would often say with a big smile, “No hay cuartos,” yet there was always room for one more.
Services will be held at Myers Mortuary at 845 Washington Blvd, on Saturday, March 21st at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor her memory by sharing a meal, opening your home, or offering kindness to others–just as she did throughout her life.
