Gary Glen Farr
Gary Glen Farr passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 20, 2026. Gary was born on August 14, 1942, to Glen Farr and Inez Viola Cazier in Ogden at the old Dee hospital.
Gary was raised and resided in Taylor, Utah. He grew up on the family farm and was the third of four children.
His younger years were spent helping and working on the family farm, milking and raising cattle, baling hay, and doing other farm chores. He grew up instilled with a very strong work ethic, which was passed down to his children. Gary met the love of his life, Gwen Elene Stewart, and they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on October 18, 1963. They made their home on the family land also in Taylor. Gary and Gwen had four wonderful children. Jeffery, Jason, Becki, and Bonnie.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church callings throughout the years.
Gary and Gwen loved to take the family on many summer camping trips and vacations. Gary enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his free time hunting and fishing with his family. He loved animals and raised many hunting dogs in his days. There were always many pets around to love and enjoy. Gary loved to garden, and well into his older years, took pride in sharing this talent with his kids and grandchildren.
Gary worked as a machinist and manager at Williams International for many years. In 1991, he purchased his first semi and named it “Plum Crazy”. He drove cross-country for Mercer Trucking Company before he retired. He received a perfect safe driving record award from them. He was an exceptional driver. He shared many stories of his adventures driving and stories of the different loads he would transport. He always said that after visiting every state, the state he would love to move to would be Arkansas.
He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family. He loved to do yard work not only for himself and Gwen, but for Bonnie and Leah at the home he grew up in. He loved to spray weeds and cut grass using the tractor, garden, hang out with his best buddy “Shelly dog”, and was often found sitting in his lawn chair enjoying the sunset. He loved taking trips to Montana, Oregon, and Idaho to visit his children and grandchildren.
After Gwen died in 2015, he spent much of his time with his youngest daughter, Bonnie and his granddaughter, Leah. He loved having dinners with them, working in the yard playing games, and teaching them all the ways to fix and take care of things. Even in his final days, he expressed his desire to do spring yard work and split logs. Gary’s gentle yet witty personality will be greatly missed.
Gary is survived by his children, Jeff (Teresa) Farr, Becki (Eric) Mascarenas, Jason (Patti) Farr, Bonnie (Skyler) Farr-Coles, 10 Grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026 11:00 AM with a viewing prior 9:30 – 10:45 at the LDS Chapel (3271 West 2550 South, Taylor, Utah). Following services he will be buried next to Gwen in the Ogden Cemetery.
