John Thomas Lasnik
John Thomas Lasnik, 74, of Ogden, Utah, passed away on April 25, 2026.
John was born in Ogden, Utah on March 7, 1952, to Jack and Lorine Lasnik. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Ogden High School, and later completed machinist school before beginning his career.
John worked for many years as a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad, where he built a strong and steady career through hard work and dedication.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and lived a life full of adventure. Whether it was fishing on a quiet river, camping with family, riding dirt bikes, hunting, boating, golfing, or skiing, John found joy in being outside and sharing those experiences with the people he loved. Above all, he cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
John was an amazing and loving father and grandfather who was always present, supportive, and dependable. His family was the center of his world.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lasnik; his son, Brian Lasnik; his sisters, Margie English and Linda Pietraczyk; his grandsons, Liam, Lex, and Ledger Lasnik; and our beloved companion, Charlie, the wiener dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lorine Lasnik.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403, with a viewing held an hour prior, beginning at 1:00 PM.
