Stephen Joseph Clausse

May 8, 2026

1942 – 2026

Steve Clausse completed his final mission on May 4, 2026, passing away peacefully at home. Born in 1942, Steve was convinced he hit the chronological jackpot–growing up with hotrods and handshakes instead of cell phones and computers. Raised by his father, Gerald, alongside sisters Janice and Jerry, Steve learned early on the value of a job done right and a hot meal at the end of the day.

A 1960 graduate of Ben Lomond High, Steve dedicated 31 years to the Army National Guard and Air Force Reserve. His expertise with F-4 and A-10 aircraft took him across 17 ships and around the globe, eventually leading to a 40-year career and subsequent contracting work at Hill Air Force Base. He was known for a sense of humor so dry it could parch a throat, usually delivered with a straight face and a slight twinkle in his eye.

When he wasn’t repairing aircraft, Steve was building hotrods. From his first ’40 Ford to the ’49 Chevy pickup he built from scratch, he lived for the quiet satisfaction of a perfectly tuned engine and memories of cruising Washington Blvd.

On February 8, 1974, Steve made his best executive decision by marrying Pat Marie Waite. Their 52-year marriage was his most enduring project, resulting in a family of 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

We love you and we will miss you, Dad, and thanks for the memories.
