Joan was born on November 3, 1940, in Ogden, Utah, to James and Reve Silver. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1959. She later attended Weber State College, where she earned her teaching degree. Joan had a deep love for teaching and dedicated many years to her career before retiring.

Joan had a passion for dance, drama, debate, and acting in plays. She enjoyed the arts and carried that love throughout her life.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan is survived by her children Michele and Todd Bair, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Paul Bovero.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Reve Silver, and her siblings Debbie, James, and Charlene Silver. She is survived by her brothers Ronald and Steven Silver.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the north end of the Salt Lake City Cemetery in the Silver family plots.

Joan will be remembered for her love of family, education, and the arts, as well as the kindness and dedication she shared with those around her.
