Edmund Robert Woods

Nov 4, 2026

Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Edmund Robert Woods, affectionately known as Ted, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026, at his home in North Ogden, Utah. He was born on October 15, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, to Parley and Vonda Woods.

Ted grew up in the Ogden area and spent much of his life in the community he loved. He graduated from Ogden High School and Weber College. He served a mission in Sydney, Australia and he spoke fondly of the memories he made there.

He married his eternal companion, Carolyn Wright, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 23, 1964. Together, they raised their six children in Riverdale, Utah, building a life centered on family, love, and togetherness. Ted and Carolyn created many special family memories, including the countless trips they took with their children to Disneyland. Christmastime was a favorite in their home and they knew how to make the season magical.

Ted was a gentle, humble man who found joy in the simple things in life. He had a curious mind and a quick wit. He loved a good laugh and always had plenty of corny jokes to share with anyone who would listen. He was known for his kindness, willingness to help others, and his unconditional love. His family was his greatest treasure, and he took great pride in being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He dedicated many years of service to Hill Air Force Base, where he worked as a Computer Specialist. He enjoyed the challenges of his work and was known for his intelligence and ability to solve problems. After many years of service, he retired and enjoyed spending more time with his family.

Ted was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he faithfully served in many capacities, including as a ward clerk for many years. His quiet dedication and willingness to serve were a reflection of his humble nature and faith.

Ted is survived by his six children, Nannette (Robert) Milliner, Shannon (David) Adamson, Sheila (David) Nielson, Suzanne (Ryan) Westbroek, Nathan (Laura) Woods, and Melissa (Jason) Paskett. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his eternal companion, Carolyn; his parents, Parley and Vonda Woods; his siblings, Janice, Thomas, and John; and his beloved grandson, Dallin Adamson.

Ted’s family will forever be grateful for the love he shared, the wonderful example he set, and the countless memories that will be cherished always. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bruce Larsen and the staff at Farr West Family Medicine, as well as the caring staff at Spring Gardens Assisted Living, for their kindness, compassion, and loving care shown to Ted and our family. Their support and thoughtfulness will always be remembered and appreciated.
