She was born in 1945 to Dot and Ray Stanger, the youngest of four children. She grew up in Marriott-Slaterville in the red brick house, with brother Grant and sisters Sherma and Shirley. Those were great times, exploring and playing in the fields. Dixie always loved nature, wandering, and day dreaming. She was a sweet, shy girl. She graduated from the old Weber High School in Ogden.

Dixie married Lyn Bingham in 1967 and they raised five children: Tina, Bret, Tiffany, Bryce, and Trisha. The family moved to the house on Mountain Road in 1982. Dixie lived there for 41 years. She always enjoyed seeing the deer tracks and finding antlers, seeing small animals or the occasional snake. She loved collecting different rocks, so many rocks! She liked raising monarch butterflies every year. She liked watching football on TV, along with Bob Ross and his Happy Trees. She also loved to do PUZZLES!!

After her divorce she worked at Deseret Industries for several years before retiring in 2010. Dixie loved walking to the bus stop every day to go wander and people watch at the stores. Many kind people would see her walking on Monroe or 1100 North and stop to give her a ride. She always enjoyed those rides, and told us about the people she met.

Dixie is survived by her sister, Shirley, and her children: Tina (Gary) Archibald, Bret (Cathy) Bingham, Tiffany Bingham, Bryce (Autumn) Bingham, and Trisha (Opie) Mulvey and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Grant, and sister, Sherma.

There will be a viewing held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. Following her viewing, she will be laid to rest at the Ogden Cemetery with her parents.
