Born July 20, 1933 in Tremonton, Utah to Eva Marie Ellis Green and Donald Boberg Green. Donna and her three sisters were raised in a musical household where she became accomplished in playing the violin. She graduated from Bear River High School with honors in 1951. She attended BYU for two years and in 1976 graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. She enthusiastically taught 4th and 5th graders for 17 years in Ft. Worth.

Donna was introduced to her sweetheart, Rees Junior Stephens, and they married May 7, 1953 in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. They lived in Bryan, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada in their early years while Rees was training to fly in the Airforce. Later they lived in Maryland, where their first two children were born, in Tremonton where two more children arrived, on to Valparaiso, Florida then Waco, Texas where their 5th child was born, and finally Ft Worth, Texas where their last child was born. They ultimately retired to Ogden, Utah in 1995.

Donna’s life was filled with church and community service. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and engaged in teaching seminary and other classes including 4-H and working with the Cub scouts. Her service continued with being a Relief Society president four times and spending many years working in the Dallas and Ogden temples with Rees.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister (Joann), 2 sons Matthew Donald and Peter Benjamin, one grandson, Christian, and one great-granddaughter, Josephine.

She is survived by 4 children Melanie, Lisa, Daniel, and Paul(Claudia), 11 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Donna’s life by gathering at 11 a.m. The funeral will follow at noon on Wednesday, October 21 in the LDS chapel at 4380 Orchard Avenue, in Ogden, Utah.

Interment: Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden Utah.
