Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, Helen Humphreys Pettingill, 95, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at her home peacefully.

Helen was born and raised in Pleasant View for 18 years and graduated from Weber High School in 1948.

Helen married her sweetheart Gay W. Pettingill on December 27, 1948 in Pleasant View, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1962. Gay preceded her in death on June 24, 2018.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Relief Society Counselor, Primary Teacher, Self Reliance Counselor and many other positions.

Helen worked alongside her husband to establish Pettingill Fruit Farm in South Willard.

Helen at a young age took care of her five children as well as helping at the fruit stand.

She was an excellent cook, bringing many people together to enjoy delicious meals. She kept a beautiful yard, and sewed her granddaughter’s wedding dresses.

Surviving are her three children: Jay Reed (Gizelle) Pettingill of Aberdeen, Idaho; Steven George (Becky) Pettingill of Perry, UT; Jean Pettingill (Kent) Davis of South Willard, UT; 18 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Gay; two sons, Brent J. Pettingill and Jeffrey W. Pettingill; two grandchildren, Marie Pettingill, and Ashley Pett, two brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Willard South Stake Center, 840 W 8300 S., Willard, UT and the viewings will be held on Friday, September 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Willard Precinct Cemetery.
