After graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1961, Rodney’s sense of duty led him to join the Army Reserves, where he served until his honorable discharge in 1968. He later found his vocation in the meticulous craft of glass work construction, where he worked as a Glazer until his retirement. This profession mirrored Rodney’s character – precise, humble, and hard-working. His hobbies painted a vivid picture of a man who was not afraid to soar – quite literally – with over 700 skydiving jumps in his 20s and 30s. His love for model airplanes also saw him spend countless hours building and flying them out by Ogden Airport. Yet, amidst the high skies and the craft of glasswork, what mattered most to Rodney was his family and ensuring their needs were met.

Rodney’s legacy of love and dedication is carried forward by his brother, Kerry Rasmussen, his children, Rodney L. Rasmussen, Debbie Johnson, Kammie Rasmussen, and Jamie Greenwald. His spirit continues to inspire his grandson Kelton Greenwald, his granddaughters Kiara Greenwald, Misty Horinek, Kelsey O’Leary, and Brittini O’Leary, and his great-granddaughters Hayden Antonia, Hailie O’Leary, and Hannah O’Leary. He now joins his father, Hans Rasmussen, and mother, Fern Rasmussen, in peaceful rest.

Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering and honoring his life at a memorial service held Friday, September 25th at the 1st Ward LDS Church, located at 5850 South 2575 West, Roy City.

A viewing will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Ogden City Cemetery.
