Frederick Cannon passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday September 17th, 2026. Fred was born January 24, 1941 in Phenix City, Alabama.

He married Sandra Cannon on March 3, 1962. Fred joined the Air Force early in life and enjoyed a long career until he retired in 1995 as senior master Sargent after 28 years of service.

He loved building things and was a fantastic carpenter. Fred has been a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan for years. He was a Judo instructor and enjoyed camping and boating with his family.

His sense of humor was infectious, and he loved going out for breakfast and shooting the breeze with all the other old timers there. He never met a stranger because if you didn’t know him, you would shortly and not be able to forget him. He loved his family deeply and we will never be the same without him.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sandra, his son, Thomas and daughter Bernita, brothers James and Jerry, grandchildren Daniel, Haley, Madison, Caitlin, Amber and Christoper and many great grandchildren.

Fred will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 25th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

Interment will be held at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
