Myrna Stringfellow Messerly of North Ogden will celebrate her 80th birthday on Monday, Nov. 23, with her family.?She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Draper, to Henry Eldon Stringfellow and Naomi Rasmussen. She received her associate degree from Weber College. She played piano professionally for many years in ballet studios, for voice lessons and taught piano in her home. She married her eternal companion, Wayne Russel Messerly, on Oct. 8, 1953.?Her five sons are John Messerly, Jeff Messerly, Joel Messerly, Jed Messerly and Justin Messerly. She has 21 grandchildren, the last being born this month, and two great-grandchildren. ?She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1995.?She has always enjoyed dressing stylishly. She enjoyed a camping trip this summer with her sons in the Uintah Mountains. She says her sons and family have been the whole of her energies and has enjoyed motherhood to the fullest. She is very pleased to still be playing the organ in her ward after fifty years of service.
