Letha Wood Peterson Stenquist celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends on Nov. 1.?She was born Nov. 4, 1919, to Johnathan David Wood and Pheobe Gleason Wood. She was next to youngest of eight children. She and her younger sister, Pheobe Pinder, are the only siblings still alive.?She married Bernie Peterson after high school and they were the parents of five children. They lived a short time in California then Jerome, Idaho, moving to Fielding when their children started school. After the death of her husband, she married Marvin Stenquist and moved to Tremonton.?An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. ?She enjoyed writing poems to help pass the day, writing about family, friends and all aspects of life. She stayed at home taking care of her children and home, working for a short time for Dr. Ficklin after the death of her first husband.?She enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling and spending time with family and grandchildren, playing solitaire and Kings in the Corner.?Her children and their spouses are Leah Peterson (deceased), Patsy Tremelling, Robert and Shirley Peterson, Rex and Kay Peterson, and Bart Peterson. She has 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. ?For health reasons she lives at Crestwood Care Center, 3665 Brinker Ave., in Ogden.
