Phyllis Cooper Scoffield of Clinton will celebrate her 80th birthday on Dec. 20.?She was born on Dec. 20, 1929, in Syracuse. She then moved to Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College.?She worked at Dee Hospital, the U.S. Forest Service and the Internal Revenue Service. She also worked in the medical field for 20 years, including the Clearfield Clinic and with Dr. Bruce W. Carlin, where she retired. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband’s business.?She married Nate Scoffield on Oct. 2, 1957, and lived in Ogden for two years before moving to Clearfield, where they lived for 18 years. Later they moved to Clinton, where they have lived for the past 32 years while traveling to Arizona, Oregon and Alaska. They have also enjoyed traveling in their motor home. ?Their children and their spouses are Reid and Shawna Bullock, Murray; Scott and Natalie Heyden, Tualatin, Ore.; and Greg and Heidi Naylor, Clinton. They have 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.?

Nate Scoffield of Clinton celebrated his 80th birthday on Dec. 7.?He was born on Dec. 7, 1929, in Layton and attended Davis High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and later worked as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He also owned his own construction company. He retired from the railroad after 39 years. He is a master brick layer and, for many years, has been sought out to lay brick fireplaces. ?He married Phyllis Cooper on Oct. 2, 1957, and lived in Ogden for two years before moving to Clearfield, where they lived for 18 years. Later they moved to Clinton, where they have lived for the past 32 years while traveling to Arizona, Oregon and Alaska. They have also enjoyed traveling in their motor home. ?Their children and their spouses are Reid and Shawna Bullock, Murray; Scott and Natalie Heyden, Tualatin, Ore.; and Greg and Heidi Naylor, Clinton.
