James William “Bill” Chamberlain celebrated his 90th birthday at home with his family on Aug. 29. Friends and neighbors may visit him from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 at his home, 2347 N. 2600 East, Layton.?He was born on Aug. 26, 1919, in Cedar Fort to Francis Orin Chamberlain and Lelia Loray Cook.?He met Nora Ileen Jacobs in Delta, where he worked. They married on June 4, 1940. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. She died in April 2008.?His children and their spouses are Dennis Chamberlain, Lelia Raylene and (George deceased) Eriksson, Robert Lynn and Candice Chamberlain, and Greg and (Heidi deceased) Chamberlain.?He has 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a special daughter and her spouse Darla and Mark Barnes.?He has lived in Cedar Fort, Delta, Ogden and Layton. He worked in these same areas as a carpenter and in construction.?He is a member of the LDS Church and has served in many capacities.?He resides in his and his mom’s dream home in Layton and is active in gardening and keeping up his 3/4-acre yard and flower gardens.
