West Point couple celebrates 70 years?
Wilford and Elva R. Zaugg of West Point will observe their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 4, which is the date they were married in 1940 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. A celebration is planned for them in July.?They began their life in West Point. Except for their first year of marriage, they have lived on the same property, where they raised their 11 children.?They served an LDS mission in the Dallas Texas Temple and worked 18 years in the Ogden LDS Temple. ?They had a dairy where they milked cows, sold milk and raised various crops. At ages 95 and 90, they are active and enjoy visiting their family and friends. They have donated their time and money to help provide a way for a church and school to be built on their property, which has benefited many people.?They are the parents of 11 children: Karen and Roy Barraclough, Orem and Moab; Lee and RuthAnn Zaugg, Dallas; Eileen and Gerry Beltgens, Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Ned and Emily Zaugg, Everett, Wash.; Barbara and Hunter Stuart, Gilbert, Ariz.; Laraine and Jerry Bouck, San Diego; Reed and Dianne Zaugg, Lewiston; Lowell “Buzz” and Nikki Zaugg, West Point; Russell Zaugg, Roy; Douglas and Brenda Zaugg, West Point; and Kelly and Laurel Zaugg, Ogden. ?They also have 58 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren.
