Robert M. Lund will be honored for his 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. on April 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Ogden 20th Ward, 575 E. 3100 North.?Born in Ogden in April 18, 1930, to Walter B. Lund and Ethel Miller, his mother died before he was age 2. He and his younger brother, Paul Lund, were adopted by his Aunt Irene Lund.?He served an LDS mission in Southern California. He later was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving as a photographer in the Signal Corps in Japan and Korea. He also served in the Army Reserve for eight years and worked at Hill Air Force Base for 39 years.?He married Deloris “Dee” Jeffries of Vernal in 1963. They lived in Ogden for four years and moved to North Ogden in 1967.?He served in many church positions: first counselor in two bishoprics, other ward and stake positions and Scouting, which he really enjoyed. He served in Weber View District Scouting positions. One of his highlights was being a Scoutmaster for eight years. When he was released as Scoutmaster, he helped boys to earn their Eagle. He enjoyed Wood Badge and served there many years. He was the coarse director in 1992 at Camp Bartlett and is a Silver Beaver. He was a bishop in the North Ogden LDS 20th Ward. He and his wife served in the Ogden LDS Temple for 10 years and were later called to serve in the Salt Lake Temple Square Mission.?His sons are Jeffrie and Ann Lund, Cristopher and Wendi Lund, Trace and Brooke Lund, and Trent and Wendy Lund.
