Hilda Olsen of Roy celebrated her 90th birthday. She enjoyed parties throughout the month with her children who live in other states. An open house at her daughter’s home and family dinner at Corbin’s restaurant were hosted by her daughter Sharon Price and her family.?She was born on Dec. 28, 1919, in Goppingen, Germany, to Adolf and Rosine Kazenwadel. She and her family arrived in the United States in 1929 and lived in New York before moving to Utah.?She married Ivan Olsen on May 10, 1941, in Salt Lake City. They celebrated a 65-year marriage, raised five children and for the last 23 years managed the Alamo Storage in Ogden.?Her children and their spouses include Maureen and Jack Spittler, Texas; Sharon and Dennis Price, Roy; Jerry and Cathy Olsen, Florida; Karen Clarke, Oklahoma; and Jeff and Tammy Olsen, Oklahoma. She has 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.?She enjoys poetry, music and books on tape. Staying active at home, she lives with her daughter in Roy and enjoys traveling to Texas, Florida and Oklahoma to visit her other children. She remains a major part of all her children’s lives.
