BoDell Hunsaker Benson of West Valley City will celebrate her 80th birthday on Thursday, Jan. 28. Her family will honor her at an open house from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Granger 15th Ward church house, 2835 S. 2855 West, West Valley City.?She was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Newton to Jacob Lloyd and Esther Hanson Hunsaker.?She married Ralph Benson on March 29, 1947. She and her husband have enjoyed many years of camping and hunting with family and friends in the Moab area. He died on March 11, 1998.?She worked for Grand County Sheriff’s Department, Grand County clerk’s office and retired from Utah State Archives in 1988.?Her children and their spouses are Paula and Devon Talbot, Hooper; Darrell and Helen Benson, La Sal; and Debra Benson, West Valley City. She also has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.?She has one brother and one sister: Bill Hunsaker, Montana; and Francese Dowdle, Willard.?She enjoys reading, cooking, crocheting, traveling and trips to the cabin with her family, where she still rides her four-wheeler.?She is an active member of the LDS Church.
