Seager?

Margaret Umber Seager of Ogden celebrated her 90th birthday at a family dinner on March 7.?She was born on March 8, 1920, in Kenilworth to George Elmer and Marie Witteveen Umber. Her siblings are Eleanor Malan, Norma Edwards, Pearl Winkler, and Stanley Umber (all are deceased). Her sister-in-law is Minnie Umber.?Her mother died when she was age 14, and she lived with her brother and sisters. She graduated from South Eastern High School in Detroit in 1938.?She served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Upon being honorably discharged, she was asked to remain in her personnel position in a civilian capacity. She also worked for the Boy Scouts of America, U.S. Forest Service, Detroit Trust and the Ogden Weber Education Center as the school secretary.?She married Spencer H. Seager on Sept. 22, 1951, in Elko, Nev. She cared for her husband at home as his health deteriorated; he died on June 6, 1993.?Her children and spouses are Marie and Thomas Richins, Kay Seager (deceased), Spencer L. and VeeAnn Seager, Carol and Wilson Dinsdale, Rich and Diana Seager, Thomas Seager (deceased), and daughter-in-law, Velda Maw and Don Webb.?She has a special grandson, James Jonathan “JJ” Fetter, whom she helped raise. She has 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.?She enjoys spending time with her family and her Japanese Chin dog, Tiger; reading and “only resting her eyes” while watching television.?
