Frutosa Sosa of Ogden celebrated her 98th birthday with family and friends at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 11.?She was born on March 11, 1912, in Tierra Amarilla, N.M., to Semon and Carmenlita Romero.?On April 20, 1930, she married Fred P. Sosa in New Mexico. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on May 21, 1971. He died in 1980.?She has been a resident of Ogden for more than 68 years and worked for several businesses in the area until she retired.?Her hobbies include making quilts, crocheting and watching soap operas and TV game shows — her favorite is “The Price is Right.”?Her children and their spouses are Fred E. and Stella Sosa, Clearfield; Semon and Lela Sosa, Ogden; Leo Sosa, Clearfield; Henry Sosa, Roy; Carmen Gutierrez and Frank Sosa, Ogden. Sons and daughters who are deceased are Alfonso Sosa, Emma Allgo, Rachel Sosa, Rebecca Sosa and Sammy Sosa.?She has 40 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.?She enjoys going for Sunday rides on sunny days with her son Frank Sosa. He is her caregiver. She says family gatherings at home make her very happy.?
