Jack R. Brown of North Ogden celebrated his 94th birthday with his family last month. If friends or family have special memories of him, sentiments are being collected for a book. Mail them to the attention of Brent Shaw, 2274 N. 1225 East, North Ogden, UT 84414.?He was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Frank Gerald Brown and Bernice Childress Brown. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father. They enjoyed the mountains and being outdoors together. This inspired the move West to the Rocky Mountains. They settled in Ogden, and it became a family tradition each year to hike Malans Peak and Taylor Canyon.?He served in the 250th Coast Artillery during the World War II, where he was stationed at Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He served for more than four years. Before being enlisted, he worked for Mountain Fuel. After the service, he went back to Mountain Fuel where he became a general foreman, retiring after 40 years.?He married Hannah Donna Larsen, and they had one daughter. She has three children. They were later divorced.?He then married Juanita Shaw on Jan. 25, 1975. While living in Bountiful, he and Juanita enjoyed traveling back and forth to their home away from home in Beaver Dam. They have enjoyed many years together.
