Louis Richard and Ione King Howell of Layton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 29. They plan a cruise to Alaska with their children and spouses in July.?They were married in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on June 29, 1951.?Born Nov. 24, 1929, in Salt Lake City to William L. and Ellen Lunt Howell, he graduated from Ogden High School and Weber College, and served in an LDS mission to Canada from 1949 to 1951. He served in the Air Force as a radar technician and later as a pilot. After leaving the service, he finished his degree and worked as a corporate accountant in California. ?She was born Aug. 4, 1931, to George H. and Luella Newey King. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College. She taught piano lessons for 30 years. ?They lived in California for 40 years and held many positions in the LDS Church.?After retiring in 1993, they served a mission at the Salt Lake Family History Mission, where they were assigned to serve over the training lab. From 1999 to 2001, they served as office missionaries in the South Dakota Rapid City LDS Mission.?They are parents of seven children, 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.?Their children and spouses are Steven and Nadine Howell, Joan and Jay Ripley, Diane Howell, Douglas and Karma Howell, Ilene and Kim Wayment, Brian and Danielle Howell, and Karen and Mark Carrozza.?They enjoy working as volunteers at the Ogden Regional Family History Center and both worked as ordinance workers at

the Ogden LDS Temple.
