Helen L. Newbrough Cooper of Nampa, Idaho, formerly of Roy, will celebrate her 80th birthday on June 9. She will be honored with a surprise reception on Saturday, June 11, in Nampa, Idaho. Best wishes can be sent to her daughter: Shirley Cooper-Aguilar, 4444 S. 2975 West, Roy, UT 84067-9560. Her daughters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will be in attendance.?She was born June 9, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Anna and Lester Newbrough. When she was a child, they moved to Alden, Minn., where she attended school and was a high school cheerleader.?After graduation, she married Richard “Dick” H. Cooper on June 26, 1949. They raised four daughters: Shirley Cooper-Aguilar, Joanne Cooper-Tehrani (deceased 1996), Maxine “Max” Cooper-Ford and Sandy Cooper.?They lived in Minnesota until 1961. Her husband ?was then transferred with Wilson & Co. Meat Packing in Ogden.?They have lived in Hanover, Mass.; Cherokee, Iowa; for 27 years in Caldwell, Idaho; and for the past two years in Nampa, Idaho.?She has two great-grandchildren on the way.
