Marilyn Watkins Friedli Rhees of Hooper will celebrate her 80th birthday. Family and friends are welcome to attend an open house in her honor from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the Sunset Room, Sunset City Building, 200 W. 1300 North.?She was born March 27, 1931, in Salt Lake City to Lyde K. Watkins and Luella Harris Watkins. She married Joseph R. Friedli on July 6, 1950, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. He died June 9, 1990.?She then married Bert Rhees on July 20, 1996, in Ogden.?Her family moved often while she was growing up, finally settling in Logan. She graduated from Logan High School. She worked at Marquardt for many years and Roy High School, retiring after more than 11 years.?She was involved with the PTA when her children were growing up. She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She has served in many ward and stake callings as a member of the LDS Church. ?She enjoys crocheting, traveling and spending time with her family.?Her children and their spouses are Steven and Vicki Friedli, Dorothy and Kay Nielsen, Doug and Vicki Friedli, Jolynne and Bruce Barnes, and Julie Wecker.?She has nine children, 31 grandchildren (one deceased) and 19 great-grandchildren.
