In celebration of her 90th birthday, Marguerite A. Christensen will be honored with an open house. Family and friends are welcome to attend the event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the First Baptist Church, 2519 Jefferson Ave., in Ogden. No gifts.?She was born on May 9, 1921, to Edmund and Elsie Archibald in Ogden. She attended Ogden schools and was in the first graduating class of the new Ogden High School.?She married George Redfield on May 15, 1940, and had two children: Jeanne and Ernie Perkins, and Richard and Diane Christensen. After her husband died, she married Eugene Chris Christensen on Sept. 20, 1944, and had four more children: Linda Sellers, Ron Christensen, Jon and Cindy Christensen, and Steve and Sherry Christensen. She also has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.?She has been active in the First Baptist Church of Ogden, serving as a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader. She produced plays and skits involving the youth of the church, as well as being a past chairman of the board, and holding other positions within the church administration. She has also been active in the American Baptist Association, serving as president of the American Baptist Women of Utah and president of the Intermountain American Baptists, representing both nationally.
