Don and Arlene Kennington of Farr West will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at an open house hosted by their children from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Farr West LDS Heritage Ward building, 2123 N. 2000 West. No gifts. ?They were married in Cokeville, Wyo., at the home of the bride’s parents, C.R. and Jennie Murphy Roberts, on Oct. 29, 1951. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple on Oct. 29, 1952. ?He is the son of George Harvey and Virginia Beyeler Kennington of Star Valley, Wyo. He enjoyed the first 19 years of his life working with his dad and brothers in the cattle business. He graduated from Star Valley High School and attended Brigham Young University and Weber State College. He worked as a machinist at Hill Air Force Base, had a boxing career, horseshoeing career, and has written and performed his own cowboy poetry throughout the West. ?She graduated from Cokeville High School, attended Weber State College and retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 36 years.?Both have been active in the LDS Church, serving in many leadership positions. She also taught piano, accordion and youth singing groups. They especially enjoyed working with the youth and keeping up with the activities of their own six children, who have added 33 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren with four more on the way. ?Their children are Dee and Kristine Johnson, Steve and Karlene Hall, Keeth and Laurel Kennington, Kendell and Luann Kennington, Brad and Kayleen Anderson, and Kory and Tina Kennington
