Rose Tonti of Ogden celebrated her 90th birthday with a week of celebrations held at the Ogden Golf & Country Club, Ligori’s Italian Restaurant and barbecues.?She was born Sept. 2, 1921, in San Pietro Avellana, Italy. She immigrated to Utah in 1950 and married Domenic Tonti on March 31, 1951, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden. She worked at Utah Tailoring Mills and put her handmade finishing touches on custom-made garments for 48 years, retiring at the age of 80.?She is currently a member of St. James Catholic Church, where she is a member of the Promoters of the Sacred Heart and the Catholic Council of Women. Her hobbies include her homemade Italian cooking for family and friends, traveling and an active social calendar.?Her children and spouses are Jean Tonti, Loreta and Steve Woodward, and Mary and Glenn Miller. Her grandchildren are Niki and Christian Barwick, Stephanie and Capt. Thomas Franken, Michael Woodward and James Miller. She says that the joy of her life is when her first great-granddaughter, Lydia Rose Franken, was born in June. Her motto is “God Bless America!”
