ei Yu, owner of Jade Hill, opened the doors to his family-operated restaurant three years ago. He chose the location in Centerville because of his love for the people and the community there.?
Yu stays busy, managing the front end and working wherever he is needed. “I do everything. Sometimes I cook, too,” he said.?
However, most of the cooking falls to his professional chef, who prepares Yu’s special recipes, making the soups and sauces from scratch.?The Walnut Shrimp ($10.95), with steamed rice and a special sauce, is one of the most popular seafood items — along with the Volcano Shrimp ($10.95), jumbo shrimp in a spicy sauce with a side of broccoli.?Yu finds that most people like to stick with his tasty chicken dishes. He offers Orange Peel Chicken ($8.55), Sesame Chicken ($7.95) and Cashew Chicken ($6.95), just to name a few.?Some of Yu’s personal favorites are the Beef With Green Beans ($8.95) and the Beef With Broccoli ($7.95).?And, for customers who enjoy tasting the whole spectrum of meats, Yu recommends the Happy Family ($9.95), a combination of shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetables served on a sizzling hot skillet.?Lo mein specialties with shrimp ($7.95), beef ($6.95) or chicken ($5.95) are a good choice for diners who love noodles.?The Hot and Sour Soup ($1.50) and Egg Flower Soup ($1.50) are often complimented.?In addition to delicious food and great service, Yu said he tries to keep his prices reasonable. His lunch specials range from $4.95 to $5.95, and include 30 entrees to choose from. Lunch specials are served with an egg roll and ham fried rice.
