Ogden Ace: Where to find your holiday tunes in Utah

By Angie Erickson, Standard-Examiner Staff - | Dec 1, 2016

”Do you hear what I hear?” If you do, you know the holiday season has begun.

The snow is falling, Christmas trees are being decorated, and the sounds of the season can be heard almost ”everywhere you go” (said while singing).

It’s safe to say we have reached a good time to start playing those holiday jingles. But, if you’re just not sure where to find them, and you no longer have those Christmas cassettes or vinyl records, why not check out some of these festive options?

FM 100.3 — Known as Utah’s Official Christmas Music Station, this station plays a variety of nonstop holiday tunes from “Grown-Up Christmas List” by Amy Grant to “Let it Snow, Let it Snow” by Dean Martin. Listen on FM radio or online at fm100.com

101.5 The Eagle — For those looking for a little country Christmas, 101.5 The Eagle is the place. Listen on FM radio or online at 1015theeagle.com.

iHeart Radio — Go to iheart.com and search “holiday” or “Christmas” for a list of stations, songs and podcasts featuring holiday music. Radio stations pop up from all over the country. Choose the one you want, click on it and start listening.

Pandora Radio — On Pandora.com you can create your own holiday station or listen to one that already exists. The Christmas options are nearly endless, from traditional, country, classical, kids, jazz, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s and much, much more. Download the app to listen to Pandora on your phone or tablet.

Spotify — Similar to Pandora, there are millions of songs on Spotify. Play your favorites and build a holiday song collection that best suits you. A free service is available, or you can pay a small amount for premium service.

YouTube — Watch videos and listen to holiday music on your computer, phone, tablet or even television through youtube.com. There are even Christmas karaoke options. Or why not get adventurous this holiday season and create your own music video, post it on YouTube, and let others watch and enjoy.

So, there you go. Now light the fire, turn up those Christmas tunes, make some hot cocoa and enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year.”
