The Ziegfeld Theater presents the stage adaptation of the beloved animated classic “Beauty and the Beast.” In this theatrical telling, the movie score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice is expanded with soaring new melodies sure to enchant audiences of all ages. It’s everything to love about the film and more in a stage spectacular.
The independent Belle, trapped in her provincial town, finds her life turned upside down as she takes her father’s place as a captive in an enchanted castle ruled by an angry beast.
With help from the creatures in the castle and her own kindheartedness, Belle finds the prince inside the Beast and works to break the magic that permeates the mysterious castle and all of its inhabitants.

On the eve of his assassination, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is visited by Camae, a mysterious hotel maid who knows more than she initially discloses. The two of them spend the evening contemplating life, purpose and the uncertain future that awaits him.

WASHINGTON TERRACE
Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse, 99 E. 4700 S., Washington Terrace
Brothers and sisters, come and feel the Sunday morning fever at Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse in their production of “Sister Act.”
Based on the classic film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse produces this musical for the first time on its stage and in the Northern Utah area. A newer musical, “Sister Act” is an endearing show about Deloris, a lounge singer who witnesses a murder by her thug boyfriend.
With her life endangered, she is forced to hide away in a convent of tone-deaf nuns. Though life as an incognito nun becomes suffocating, Deloris finds her saving grace by leading the choir of nuns to musical fame.
The musical is unique from the movie, as it is set in the ’70s, complete with disco moves, afros, glitz, glam and catchy songs. Audience members will be laughing and smiling throughout as Deloris adapts to her new lifestyle and teaches her fellow sisters of the convent how to bust a move to the ’70s groove. Cast members have been embracing the ’70s era by growing out their hair, learning how to hustle and singing to the beat of songs that embody the characteristics of the disco era.
