Día de los Muertos Utah goes from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday and will be held at Union Station in Ogden.

“This event is free to the community. Music, dancing, car show, food, market vendors and more,” reads a Facebook post for the event, hosted by Nurture the Creative Mind. The event was previously called Día de los Muertos Ogden.

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead in English, is typically celebrated Nov. 1-2 and is meant to remember and honor loved ones who have passed on, according to the Mexican Museum in San Francisco. It is particularly common in Mexico and among Mexican Americans.

According to a post on the Nurture the Creative Mind Facebook page, entertainment at Saturday’s event will include mariachi music, Mexican folkloric dancing and more. Another Día de los Muertos event hosted by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music was held Oct. 20-21 at Ben Lomond High School.
