SOUTH WEBER — Dive Pro Wrestling, an independent wrestling promotion running monthly shows out of South Weber’s Family Activity Center — located at 1181 E. Lester Drive — is holding a special event to benefit local grappler Lee Nitrous.

Nitrous is currently undergoing treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia, or APL, a rare form of blood cancer.

The “Nitrous Forever” event will take place this Saturday at the Family Activity Center. Admission is $15; doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first bell at 6:30 p.m.

In addition to a full match card, the event will feature a raffle for items like a custom Lee Nitrous Funko Pop! vinyl figuring, autographed wrestler photos, a dehumidifier and more.

Dive Pro Wrestling owner Trai Ballard told the Standard-Examiner that all proceeds from the raffle will go toward Nitrous’ cancer treatment.

“It’s been really nice to see the whole wrestling community — not just in Utah, but outside as well — kind of rally around him and really show their support for what he’s going through,” Ballard said. “It’s really hard.”

Matches include a Dive Pro Wrestling championship bout between Sterling Silvers and Jeff Orcut, Bronson vs. Tony Nova, Jayson Bravo vs. Junior X, Paradise vs. Ruby Devlin, Martin Casaus and Noah Anderson vs. Sebastian Exall and Logan White, and a three-way match between Alex V., Princess Deathwish and Kev.
