The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. Box Elder County Fair
Box Elder County Fairgrounds, Aug. 22-29, noon to 10 p.m.
It’s time for another fun county fair, this time up in Box Elder County. The fair website says: “Whether you’re a longtime fairgoer or experiencing the Box Elder County Fair for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Guests can look forward to live entertainment at the Bandstand, four nights of the Golden Spike PRCA Rodeo, delicious fair food and sweet treats, and the Junior Livestock of Box Elder County Exhibits & Auction. The Fair also showcases 4-H exhibits, Home Arts displays, and local crops that highlight the hard work and talent of our community. Don’t miss the Wednesday parade, a favorite tradition filled with local pride and friendly faces.”

2. Snowbasin Art Walk, Snowbasin Vendor Village, noon-6 p.m.

Beat the heat by heading to the mountains and enjoy some spectacular art at the Snowbasin Art Walk. The event listing at VisitOgden.com says: “Snowbasin Resort is excited to announce the Snowbasin Art Walk, a special weekend event celebrating local creativity in the heart of the mountains. Taking place Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16, the Art Walk will invite guests to explore a curated selection of artwork while enjoying the scenic beauty, summer atmosphere, and resort experience that make Snowbasin a memorable destination

3. Waiting for Godot
Good Company Theatre, Aug. 15-16, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy a summer evening of great theater at the latest show at Good Company Theatre. The theater page says: “Two wandering souls, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a lonely tree for the mysterious Godot, a stranger who may never arrive. They pass the time with bickering, boots, hats, half-remembered stories, and the occasional visit from a blustering landowner and his rope-bound servant. Hilarious, heartbreaking, and as urgent today as it was in 1953, Beckett’s self-proclaimed tragicomedy asks all of life’s biggest questions and answers exactly none of them.”
