This week, a press release heralded the third annual Blues & Brews Car Show, set for August 1-2 from noon-6 p.m. both days.

Snowbasin Resort  Brand Marketing ManagerBrooks Roe told the Standard-Examiner Wednesday that visitors wiill notice a couple of changes from the previous two iterations of the event.

“We’re changing things up a little bit,” he said. “We’ll have the cars out in the skier drop-off, out in the parking lot where cars should be.”

He said there will be around 40 cars on display each day with Classics (pre-1990) being showcased on Saturday and Modern (1990-today) being showcased on Sunday.

“The car owners love bringing it up to the mountains,” he said. “It’s super fun. They enjoy taking photos with their car with the mountain in the background, and it’s just turned out to be, we’ve turned out to be a pretty cool venue for folks that are coming up to look to share their car. We do some prizes for them. We give away prizes for ‘Best in Show,’ ‘Most Unique,’ (and give out) gift cards and lift tickets and things like that.”

Roe said that the first couple of car shows have been a huge learning experience.

“We used to set up on a field and parking was super weird,” he said. “We configured weird little aisles for cars to be in and it wasn’t very organized. So this year — being in the main parking lot — they’re going to be able to have their own parking spot. It’ll look very clean. It’ll be easy to get in and out of and for people to walk around and actually look at the vehicles. Every year, we’re just trying to make the best step forward in our configuration and how the event flows for our guests and for the folks participating.”

He said that registration for vehicles has closed, but the public is more than welcome to attend.

“We’re just always looking for more opportunity to welcome more people up and maybe create more of a theme to each event,” he said. “This was one that we started three years ago that really took off and was really received well.”

This weekend will also include the normal Blues & Brews activities including live music, lift rides, food and more.
