The Winter Wonderland market is coming to The Monarch on Jan. 8, 2022. Visit themonarchogden.com/happenings for more details.

The holidays will soon be over, but the parties won’t be. Winter festivities continue in the new year at The Monarch — a Winter Wonderland market; “New Year New Vibe” All White Party Ladies’ Night; Bites, Brews, and Tunes; and Open Studio Night during Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll are coming in January.

All are invited to attend the free celebrations of art, food, music and community every month throughout the new year.

The Monarch’s first event series, Open Studio Night and Van Sessions by The Banyan Collective, began in 2019 shortly after the grand opening of the downtown venue and art space and continued safely throughout 2020 while following all of the CDC guidelines. A year later in February 2021, the Monarch Market was created featuring a rotating assortment of food and arts vendors, live music and a cash bar. The monthly third Thursday ladies’ night was introduced in October. In addition, live music shows started this year, turning The Monarch into an all-ages concert venue.

By the end of 2021, there was something new to experience at The Monarch every week. Special-themed markets began with the Pride Kick Off in June with a live performance on the patio with SLC-based rocker Talia Keys; July’s Beehive Bash gave Ogdenites a new way to say “cheers” to Pioneer Day featuring axe throwing and local musicians The Snarlin’ Yarns and Orchard Wild; Fallapalooza and Boo-Nanza brought more local musicians, food trucks, pie throwing and pumpkin contests to mark autumn’s return; and Gobble till you Wobble and Jingle Jangle Hop rounded out a full calendar with more seasonal arts and food vendors, kids’ activities and live performances.

The Monarch will continue to have two markets every month: a themed market every second Saturday plus Bites, Brews, and Tunes on the last Saturday. In January, Winter Wonderland market is the second Saturday on Jan. 8 and Bites, Brews, and Tunes the last Saturday, Jan. 29. Both markets are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every month.

Monthly ladies’ nights at The Monarch continue Jan. 20, 2022, with the All White Party. Stay tuned for details at themonarchogden.com/happenings.

Witches’ Night Out was the inaugural ladies’ night at The Monarch, which continued as a monthly event. The Calm Before the Storm pampered all the ladies in November before the family holiday stress hit the fan, and All The “Jingle” Ladies Ugly Sweater Party raised money for a local family this month. The ladies’ nights are from 6-9 p.m. every third Thursday and feature a different theme and unique mix of live music, special performances, food and art vendors.

The Monarch also presented two live music shows this year, Talia Keys and The Love on the upper deck in the summer and Sammy Brue’s new band, BRUE, in the Royal Room, as it evolved into an all-ages concert venue. It also hosted concerts for the Onstage Ogden Downtown Series, Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music’s Dia De Los Muertos concert with Las Cafeteras, Indie Ogden’s Chali 2na summer concert and more.

The next concert at The Monarch is snOwFOAM 2022 with The Lil Smokies presented by OFOAM in the Royal Room on Friday, Jan. 28.

More details on the January events will be announced soon, as well as upcoming markets and ladies’ night in February.

The Monarch’s specialty markets, ladies’ nights and Open Studio Night were created for the community to gather with friends and family to celebrate art and support the independent artists, makers and creators of Utah.
