Art showcasing Ogden sought as Union Station prepares for centennial celebration
OGDEN — The call is out to artists from across Utah to showcase the city of Ogden.
A Monday press release from Ogden City Arts, Culture, & Events put out the call for artists to help celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of Union Station.
“In honor of Union Station’s 100th Anniversary this year, the Ogden Begins Here Show is offering artists an opportunity to showcase Ogden’s unique history and distinct character in their work,” the release said. “What makes Ogden-Ogden?
“Union Station, which anchors historic 25th Street, has two art galleries and an ongoing display of antique automobiles, historic Browning firearms, artifacts and a large variety of locomotives and railway history. The collaboration with Ogden City Arts to host the Community Art Show is a wonderful opportunity for creatives in Utah to showcase their work.”
Artists are asked to submit up to one piece of artwork that has been completed within the last two years by 4 p.m. Oct. 7.
“The artist call has no entry fee and if an artist’s work is chosen as a winner, they will receive an honorarium,” the press release continues. “The show will open on Friday, Nov. 8, and will run through Friday, Jan. 24, 2025.”
