America
America
250 years of freedom
250 years of patriotism
A country built by individuals willing to leave everything behind to build a better life for their children
Red, White, and blue
We wear these colors every July 4th.
Waving flags of bravery, purity, and justice Do we truly understand what these colors mean?
Who they represent?
They represent every person who calls the USA their home
Every baby who has taken their first wobbly steps on the soil that our soldiers have fought to protect
Every stranger entering our country for the first time in promise of a better future The children that run across playgrounds blissfully unaware of the cost of freedom
Freedom
The ability to be free
For 250 years we have all struggled, grieved, and rejoiced together.
In all of the uncertain times, unpredictable events we have all come together as a country. 9/11, Pearl Harbor attack, hurricanes, earthquakes, and The Great Depression All tragic events in America history yet times that Americans have banded together to strengthen this country
America
250 years of prosperity 250 years of innovation
A country built by millions of unique people working together to create the greatest nation.
1st Place in Senior High School age group: James Green, a Roy High School student
Great country of America
Dared to be free
Because of the sacrifice
Liberty we gained
Everyone should celebrate
She protects us all the time
Singing out in joy
Anytime you go and do what you need
May God watch over you
Ever you may need him
Receive his love
In all your works
Can’t we all agree God blesses
America

Two Hundred and Fifty
Thirteen colonies rose to fight for us,
For freedom, rights, and bold success.
Through muck and rain, they faced the foe,
Two Hundred and Fifty Years Ago.
War of 1812 is done and through;
Twenty-four states–a nation made anew.
Monroe’s “Good Feelings” started to show,
Two Hundred Years Ago.
Reconstruction and thirty-eight states,
Bell’s telephone was worth the wait.
The Centennial rings as the country grows,
A Hundred and Fifty Years Ago.
Forty-eight states and the factory line,
Coolidge and Harding in prosperous times.
The Jazz Age roars through the radio,
A Hundred Years Ago.
Fifty states and the MRI machine,
Ford and Carter at the Bicentennial scene.
The fireworks burst in a brilliant glow,
Fifty Years Ago.
From thirteen stars to a digital glow,
A quarter-millennium of seeds we sow.
To the great anniversary, forward we go-
Two Hundred and Fifty Years… watch us grow!
