This week, TFNU sent out a press release announcing that tickets are now on sale for the film festival, set to be held at Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.

“The evening will feature a selection of short films highlighting outdoor recreation, local landscapes, and the people who spend time in Ogden’s mountains and trails,” the release said. “Films may feature activities including hiking, trail running, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits.

“The festival will bring together films and stories from outdoor enthusiasts and filmmakers throughout Ogden, highlighting the variety of ways people experience the outdoors in the community.”

TFNU Marketing and Communications Coordinator Kylie Thompson told the Standard-Examiner on Tuesday around 300 tickets are on sale on the TFNU website.

She said response for the event has been positive so far.

“People have been really excited to get involved,” she said. “We’ve gotten a lot of film submissions, too, which is always exciting. People are just excited to get involved and see local films because they’re filmed in the Ogden area.”

Thompson said around 10-12 films have been submitted so far.

With the deadline set for Oct. 9, there is still time to submit films.

According to the Ogden Mountain Film Festival’s website:

• “Our panel of judges will be selecting 6-10 films, ranging from 3 min to 20 min in length.
• By submitting, you confirm that you have obtained all necessary consents from individuals featured in your film, and that you have secured full rights to all music and audio used in your production.
• Must be filmed in the Ogden and the immediate surrounding areas on public land or open spaces.
• No Nudity and No Excessive Profanity”

Awards will be given for the top films.

Filmmakers will be notified between Oct. 12-16 if their film is selected for the festival.

“It’s all coming together better than expected,” Thompson said. “It’s been amazing. We’ve had a lot of amazing short films featured and they’ve all told some amazing stories, and they feature outdoor recreation, local landscapes and local community stories. It’s been amazing to see and be able to see the festival come to life. We’re excited to invite the community to join us and hear and celebrate Ogden’s outdoor stories and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
