The 24th annual Harvest Moon Celebration is set for Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Historic 25th Street between Wall Avenue and Washington Boulevard.

Ogden Downtown Alliance Executive Director Reide Thompson told the Standard-Examiner Tuesday that around 30,000 people are expects to attend Saturday.

“We’ll have live music happening all day down at the Lincoln intersection, as well as dance performances happening over on Grant,” she said. Free kids activities and programming in the Municipal Park, and new this year, we also have a dance floor called the Gathering Hall that will be down closer towards the Union Station on the 100 block of 25th Street.”

She said the day will also kick off with the Fall Produce Market from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and will also include food vendors, a rock wall, axe throwing a beer garden, shopping, live music from several artists including DJ GOYK and headliner Banda Revolución and more throughout the day. The day will also include the NUHOPE Suicide Awareness Walk at 10 a.m. at the Ogden Amphitheater.

Thompson said that event organizers are still seeking a little help from the public in the form of volunteers.

“We do still need volunteer help, particularly around set-up and tear-down,” she said. “That’s when many hands make light work and we’ll be moving all sorts of hay bales and pumpkins and fun decor all along 25th Street as we celebrate the summer transition to fall and could use all the hands we can get. So we would appreciate any help that folks have to help join us in the festivities and bringing it to life to the community.”

She said, as of Tuesday, organizers were still seeking around 50 volunteers to help out.

“Everybody will get a free Harvest Moon t-shirt and we also will have food and snacks and beverages for them throughout the day as well,” she said.

Thompson said Saturday’s Harvest Moon Celebration will be the perfect way to say goodbye to summer.

“Overall, I think the sentiment is that we’re very excited to have the opportunity for people to shop fresh produce and all sorts of fall-themed art and vendors and food trucks and, of course, support all the small businesses up along 25th Street and downtown Ogden by bringing people to the core here to celebrate the end of summer and launch us into the fall season,” she said. “It’ll be a really fun themed event, very picturesque on 25th Street and bringing all the fall vibes into Ogden.”
