Utah “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” tickets still available
Rebel Alliance spies report they’ve spotted Imperial Stormtroopers advancing on Ogden and Centerville for this week’s opening of ”Star Wars: The Force Awakens” — and believe it or not, tickets are still available to join them on opening night.
Though some of the film’s showings Thursday, Dec. 17, and Friday, Dec. 18, are sold out around the area, many were still available on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 15. Andy Rhodes, general manager of Megaplex Theatres in Ogden, said he expects “one big crowd” of costumed fans to show up for the first showings.
Among the costumed moviegoers will be members of The Alpine Garrison, a Utah fan club that specializes in role playing of the Empire’s menacing Stormtrooper shock soldiers. The group says on its website that it’s planning to field forces to several Utah theaters at 7 p.m. Thursday, including the Legacy Crossing theater in Centerville and the Megaplex Theatres at The Junction in Ogden.
