‘Chasing Shadows’ to screen at Peery’s

OGDEN –Three screenings of the snowsports film ”Chasing Shadows” will be presented by Warren Miller Entertainment and Peery’s Egyptian Theater.

The film features JT Holmes, Seth Wescott, Caroline Gleich and Steven Nyman exhibiting the dynamics of snowsports in exotic locations and snow-covered summits.

”Chasing Shadows” will screen from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, through Thursday, Oct. 29, at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. 2415 Washington Blvd.

Tickets are $20, plus a $1.50 facility fee. A group discount is available with the purchase of 10 or more tickets at $17 each, plus facility fee. Order tickets online, through www.smithstix.com, by phone or in person at the box office.

Do the ‘Time Warp’ with ‘Rocky Horror …'

OGDEN — You are invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cult classic ”The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

In a remote area, sweethearts experience car trouble and must pay a call to the strange residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, experiencing a houseful of bizarre characters.

Directed by Jim Sharman, the 1975 musical-comedy-horror film stars Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon. The movie is rated R.

There will be two screenings of the cult classic: 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30; and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Peery’s Egyptian Theater is at 2415 Washington Blvd.

Event includes a pre-show entertainment, and costumes are encouraged.

• “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ (2011, PG-13) 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Harry and his friends search for the Dark Lord’s remaining Horcruxes in an effort to destroy him when the battle between good and evil escalates in this epic finale. The adventures at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will screen at the Weber County Library’s Pleasant Valley branch, 5568 Adams Ave. Parkway, Washington Terrace.

• “Interstellar” (2014, PG-13) 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. A team of NASA explorers travel through a wormhole in an effort to locate fit-to-occupy planets that will ensure humanity’s survival. Enjoy the talents of Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway at the main library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden.

• “Paranorman” (2012, PG) 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Finding it easier to communicate with the dead rather than the living, a misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from an ancient curse. Check out what critics called “beautifully animated and solidly scripted” at the Ogden Valley branch, 131 S. 7400 East, Huntsville.

• “The Ring” (2002, PG-13) 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. A nightmarish videotape shows up in a Pacific Northwest town causing death in a week of those who watch it, as a journalist tries to unravel the mystery. A remake of a Japanese horror classic, this notable film can be seen at the Pleasant Valley branch.
