"Gleason" is part of the Ogden lineup of Sundance Film Festival offerings at Peery's Egyptian Theater. The movie about former New Orleans Saints defensive back Steven Gleason's battle with ALS plays Jan. 28.

OGDEN — Film lovers have a lucky 13 flicks to choose from when the Sundance Film Festival begins playing in Ogden on Jan. 23.

And local residents get first pick at buying individual tickets to festival screenings beginning Thursday, Jan. 14.

Utahns may purchase tickets online only at 10 a.m. that day and sales continue through 4 p.m. Jan. 15. The price is $20 per ticket; buyers may purchase a maximum of 20 tickets, with a limit of four per screening.

After purchasing seats online, folks can pick up their tickets starting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Peery’s Egyptian Theater box office, 2415 Washington Blvd, or from noon to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 through Jan. 30. Proof of Utah residency, such as a driver’s license or state ID card, will be required.

If buying online isn’t your thing, individual screening tickets — depending on availability — may also be purchased in person for $20 each at the Ogden box office from noon to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 through Jan. 30.

There’s no need for total despair even if a movie is sold out; there’s a wait-list option online that may allow you to get a ticket 2 hours before the screening. The details are available on the film festival’s website, http://www.sundance.org/festivals/sundance-film-festival/get-tickets.
