‘National Treasure’ closes out free summer film series in Layton

LAYTON — All good things must come to an end.

The Davis Arts Council’s final Free Friday Film Series offering of the summer will be the 2004 family-friendly action-adventure “National Treasure.”

The evening begins at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, with a “National Treasure”-style scavenger hunt. The movie follows at 7 p.m. in the Kenley Amphitheater, 403 N. Wasatch Drive.

Admission is free.

The film stars Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger as historians in a race to find the legendary Templar Treasure before a team of mercenaries can get to it. Directed by Jon Turteltaub, “National Treasure” is rated PG. Running time is 2 hours, 11 minutes.
