Musical medicine: Seager Memorial Clinic to host charity recital
OGDEN — The public is invited to attend the Seager Memorial Clinic’s third annual charity recital on Saturday.
The event will be held at Weber State University’s Browning Center, 3950 W. Campus Drive, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost will start at $40 per person.
Performers will include Dr. Gil Caillouet, Dr. Laurel Fedor, Kalena Nielson and an encore performance by Dr. RJ Bunnell.
“Our performers aren’t professional musicians, they are everyday people who want to share their talents for an important cause,” said Jerika Mays, executive director at the clinic. “We’re grateful for the many hours of practice they are putting into this event.”
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the recital will go toward the free medical clinic, which offers medical, dental, vision and mental health services as well as over-the-counter and prescription medications to uninsured and underinsured patients. The nonprofit organization has over 200 volunteers, from doctors and nurses to pharmacists and receptionists. The clinic is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3-5 p.m.
“It’s going to be a lovely evening. There will be live music, tasty desserts and a silent auction. We even have a patient who received partial dentures coming to share his remarkable story,” Mays said. “If you can’t make it, please consider making a donation. We will be livestreaming the performance and will send you a link that can be viewed live or at a later time.”
The event is sponsored by several local donors. Tickets can be purchased at https://bit.ly/45Fax9n.
