OGDEN — Recent snowstorms notwithstanding, warmer weather is on the horizon in the Ogden area, and with it will come one of the city’s most popular annual traditions — the Ogden Twilight concert series.

This week, the first show of the series — which is held throughout the summer and beyond at the Ogden Amphitheater — was announced for May 16. On that date, the Versailles, France-based outfit Phoenix and Toronto, Canada’s Metric will give the venue a distinctly international, indie rock flair.

Phoenix is set to tour the world — including North and South America and Europe — throughout the spring and summer in support of its seventh studio album, “Alpha Zulu,” released in November 2022. The band also celebrated the 15th anniversary of “1901” — its first song to chart in the Billboard Hot 100 — in February.

Metric, meanwhile, released the album “Formentera II” in June 2023. The Emily Haines-fronted group just announced its “Days of Oblivion” tour, with dates throughout the U.S. and in Ontario, Canada.

As it stands, the Ogden Twilight engagement is the only date to be co-headlined by the bands.

Individual tickets for this show are set to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for $20 (advance price) plus fees. Additionally, Ogden Twilight’s VIP program offers a limited number tickets in a reserved section directly in front of the stage for $85 plus fees.

Concertgoers also can purchase tickets for the entire concert series for $150 plus fees.

Although participating bands and future show dates will be announced gradually, a post on Ogden Twilight’s Facebook page indicates that organizers were able to schedule most of this year’s shows for Thursday-Saturday nights, “so it should be more convenient to attend as there are later weekend trains, easier to attend after parties, etc.”
