Shirley LeRoy Ball, former Hill AFB firefighter, receives a fire chief helmet with his name on the front of it and signed by all the firefighters in Fire Station No. 1 on Nov. 13 from Hill AFB Fire Chief Paul Erickson. The event was in honor of his 100th birthday. Ball was exemplary in his duties when he was in charge of fire inspections with a fire loss rating of just 2.2 percent with the nearest base in numbers at 6.3 percent.
